More politics

Most of the larger Trade Unions have self-organised LGBT groups within them. These act as both support & campaigning groups within the Unions. Unison has the longest running & probably most influential LGBT group and includes an annual conference.

most well known national campaigning group is Stonewall who have been extremely influential on Government policies from age of consent to civil partnerships.  They have a very good web site and newsletters - click on the image.

Outrage! adopted a more radical approach to LGBT rights including direct action.Co-founder, Peter Tatchell, broadened his agenda to human rights. His website is informative and interesting www.petertatchell.net

Other LGBT campaigning groups focus on a narrower range of issues. www.beaumonttrust.org.uk focus on transssexualism and  transvestism.

Leading UK secularist and gay rights campaigner

Terry Sanderson is president of National Secular

Society & writes  for the Gay Times - click the  image.

Gay Football Supporters Network

If you are a member of a Trade Union then try to find out if there is any LGBT organisation & join.  Many large employers have LGBT staff liaison groups that you might want to get involved in.

Not all gay men organise around politics.  Many gay men organise around interests e.g. hobbies, sports social support, confidence building etc.

The Gay Outdoor Club is a national organisation who organise walks whilst the Gay Football Supporters Network  promotes & supports the involvement of gay men and women in football & organises a national league & campaigns to challenge homophobia in the game

Please see our links page for more information on other groups.
